Terms & Conditions
To keep everything clear, fair, and professional, here’s how I work:
Scope of Work
All ghostwriting and treatment copy includes:
- An initial draft of approximately 2,500 to 3,500 words.
- One round of revisions (up to 2 hours of editing time) included in the main fee.
The quoted fee is based on a clear, reasonable initial brief covering a single script or concept. If there is more that one script or versions then the quote will accommodate accordingly. If the brief expands significantly after agreement, for example through requests for alternative versions, major new directions, or added sections, this will be assessed separately and quoted accordingly.
Additional revisions, substantial rewrites, or word count beyond the agreed scope will be charged at £60 per hour.
If further work is agreed during the process, a second invoice will be issued upon delivery of that work.
Payment Terms
An invoice will be issued upon delivery of the first draft. Payment is due within 14 days of the invoice date, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
If you are based outside the UK, payment must be made in GBP (£) via international bank transfer or a secure online service such as TOR FX or Wise. All associated transfer or currency conversion fees are the responsibility of the client.
A late payment charge may apply in line with the UK Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998. This includes statutory interest at 8% above the Bank of England base rate, plus a fixed fee of £40, £70, or £100 depending on the invoice amount.
Cancellation and Project Pauses
If the project is cancelled after work has begun, the client will be invoiced for all work completed to date. This will be calculated on a pro-rata basis at the agreed hourly rate (£60 per hour). If a fixed fee has been agreed, a fair proportion will be charged based on the stage of completion.
If the client fails to respond or provide necessary input for more than seven days without prior agreement, the project may be considered cancelled, and the same cancellation terms will apply.
Rights and Ownership
Upon receipt of full payment, all rights to the commissioned copy transfer to the client for exclusive use.
Unless explicitly requested otherwise, I retain the right to reference anonymised or redacted excerpts of the work in my portfolio or for promotional purposes.
Confidentiality
All client materials, discussions, and drafts are handled in strict confidence and will not be shared without prior consent.
Liability
While every effort is made to deliver accurate and original content, I am not liable for any legal claims, losses, or damages arising from the use, publication, or distribution of the commissioned work. Final responsibility for the content’s accuracy, legal compliance, and factual integrity lies with the client.
Thank you for your trust.
I look forward to helping bring your ideas to life, clearly, creatively and with purpose.
